2011-2012 Flu season vaccine recommendations

The CDC has issued recommendations for flu vaccination for the upcoming influenza season. The vaccine is made up of the same strains as last year's vaccine, including pandemic 2009 H1N1, but the effects of the vaccine wear off over the course of a year, so even if you got the shot last year you should get it again this year. Everyone over the age of 6 months should be vaccinated, unless they are allergic to eggs. Both live and inactivated forms of the vaccine will be available. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about which is best for you and any conditions you may have.

See the MMWR for more details.
